Hey peeps =)
We decided to give you this wallpaper for free.
However: If you want to donate to Kaffikaze on Paypal – We won’t stop you!
We launched our web store today!
You may now pre-order your very own copy of the A-Z Coffee book! Retailers and wholesale customers have some seriously good options as well, so this is good news for everybody. =)
The books will be ready for shipment in the beginning of October 2012.
We made a book!
We’re very happy to announce our successful collaboration with the gifted illustrator Lars K. Huse AKA Illustration and Coffee. The book A-Z Coffee was launched first in London at the pop-up coffee bar Protein by DunneFrankowski at the concept space 18 Hewett st. on the 25th of May 2012.
We also made a lot of sweet merch!
We were mentioned at Sprudge.com for the coolness of our mugs (or should I say hotness?). Some serious gourmet shit just hit the fan! =) Picture related.
The launch in Oslo
We are now having a mini-launch at the Hunting Lodge from 12.00-18.00 continuing at the renowned coffee bar, cocktail bar and vintage design store Fuglen (The Bird) in Oslo, Norway – our home country – on the 15th of June. This friday, actually!
Free coffee, hand brewed, all day at the Hunting Lodge, and then some more free coffee: A brew method cupping with 2nd place winner in this year’s World Aeropress Championship, Ingri M. Johnsen of Solberg & Hansen (and of Kaffikaze! Coincidence? I think not!)
Lars K. Huse AKA Illustration and Coffee: A young illustrator, artist and coffee-supergeek from Oslo, Norway, currently based in London. Part of the Cupofill collective, Lars does many a thing, always with a focus on the conceptual. Some of these things are: Live-illustration performances, murals, exhibitions, t-shirts and other products in addition to work for clients. One of his main areas of work is creating a renewed aesthetic for the specialty coffee industry based upon an informed approach. Lars is all about taste.
Presented as an A-Z; an art-book, and conversational guide about coffee, specialty coffee and coffee culture, filling a gap in the market overflowing with purely informative, and at times frankly boring books. It has been formed over the past six months, pulling and combining resources as both an illustrator and a coffee professional. The book is aesthetically quite simple, classic contemporary, with subtlety in line and production. All the words, illustrations, etc. is written by Lars and is a heavily biased reflection upon the industry. For the layout and design, Lars got together with like-minded coffee geek and graphic designer Harald Johnsen Vøyle (Kaffikaze) and crafted this contemporary classic.
Promo photo shoot at recently opened Stockfleths Gamlebyen, Oslo
We had some lifestyle / promo shots taken in collaboration with extremely passionate photographer Kyrre S. Kristoffersen at the newly opened Stockfleths Gamlebyen in Oslo the other day. Great shoot, great photographer. Very impressed by the vigor, enthusiasm and pragmatism of Kyrre!
We are super excited having just made these yesterday, they are shipping right now to this week’s World Coffee Event 2012 in Vienna. Nothing wrong with having some really frakkin nice design to go with the amazing cuppings people are gonna have over there. Wish we could join as well! Next time maybe? =)
